Music Concerts at Rotary Field.

The Patrick County Music Association offers local talent, as well as famous,
at free monthly shows at Rotary Field the fourth Saturday of every month.
The Patrick County Music Association, also known as the PCMA locally, had it’s beginnings long before the name was coined in 2002. It started as a small gathering of pickers, singers and fans of bluegrass/ /gospel music in the early 90’s at the Coffee Break on Main Street in Stuart Va. The idea of expanding was discussed by local musicians and they were encouraged by others to start a gathering of musical folk in a larger setting, on a regular schedule, and with a formal organization. Thus the Patrick County Music Association took root and it’s growth has been extraordinary.
Music runs through the veins of Patrick Countians. According to ‘A Guide to the Crooked Road’ Patrick county is “one of the most productive music thickets in North America”. There is probably not a family who has not expressed their love of music by singing, playing or making musical instruments, clogging, flat footing or just enjoying the many music events throughout the county over the years.  ~from Music Makers of the Blue Ridge Plateau
Performances are monthly, bands are eager to perform, and a gathering of fans seems to have no limits. The largest monthly performances include up to 10 bands with 1,000 or more people attending. Performances started in the Hooker Building but moved to the Rotary Memorial building next door to accommodate the ever growing crowd that turns out each month. Courtesy ~ Denny Alley
