Patrick County Population is now at 19424

According to the Weldon Cooper Center at the University of Virginia Patrick County, VA gained 17 in population from 2000 when it was 19407

Patrick County’s 2007 provisional population was 19,424, and its 2006 final figure was 19,301. On April 1, 2000, its population was 19,407, so it has gained 17 people in the past seven years. Martinsville and Henry County are among 31 Virginia localities with population decreases since 2000, according to a provisional population estimate released Monday by the Weldon Cooper Center at the University of Virginia. According to the report, Henry County’s provisional (unofficial) population in 2007 was 55,279, compared to a final 2006 figure of 55,015. On April 1, 2000, its population was 57,930, so it has lost 2,651 in the past seven years. In Martinsville, the 2007 provisional population figure was 14,611, compared to 14,575 in 2006. On April 1, 2000, the city had 15,416 people, for a loss of 805 since then. This was reported in the Martinsville Bulletin on January 30, 2008.
