Dear Caring Member of our Community,
It is difficult for most to imagine that in a country as great as ours, hunger is a prevailing problem. Moreover, in a community such as Patrick County, it is hard to conceive of hunger as an issue. Sadly, the cries of hunger are heard even here, and are more prevalent than one might imagine.
The Patrick County Community Food Bank is committed to eliminating the problem of hunger in our county. With the great economic challenges that have confronted our citizens comes other hardships such as putting food on the table for a young family or choosing between medicines or food for the elderly. Even with programs designed to assist those in need, there are many who still fall between the cracks and suffer.
Our organization is in need of funds to continue providing relief to those in need. While contributions of canned food are appreciated, our organization can better leverage monetary donations by utilizing the Second Harvest Food Bank’s resources for its primary source of food stocks. We would request that you search your heart and your budgets for additional funds that can be contributed to assist in eradicating hunger from Patrick County.
