Vietnam: Seven Who Gave All-Patrick Co. Branch Library

The Patrick County Branch of the Blue Ridge Regional Library will host an exhibit on Patrick County Virginia in the Vietnam Conflict entitled. Patrick County In Vietnam: Seven Who Gave All.
The exhibit from Patrick County Historian Tom Perry includes a shadowbox of rubbings of the names of the seven men who gave their lives in Vietnam with a Patrick County connection from the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D. C. An accompanying book including photos of the men and information about their lives and service is part of the exhibit. The final part of the exhibit includes photos of six of the seven men including Roger D. Bowman, Frederick C. Bullington, Bobby L. Corns, Israel L. Ingram, John J. James (no photos available), Bernard L. Sowder and Larry J. Talley.
The exhibit will begin on Monday, September 24 through the month of October. The exhibit will be on display at the Just Plain Country Store in Stuart in November and at the Bassett Historical Center in December and January 2008.
Perry's new book Images of America: Patrick County Virginia to be released on October 29, 2007, will include an entire chapter on those from Patrick County who served in the military from before the American Revolution through the war in Iraq.
Perry comments: “I hope this exhibit will give the people of our region an opportunity to remember these seven men who lost their lives and to remember on Veterans Day the service of all the men from Patrick County who served in Vietnam.
