The Covered Bridge Festival in Woolwine, VA is being considered in the General Assembly as a State Festival.
Both Sen. Roscoe Reynolds, D-Ridgeway and Del. Ward Armstrong, D-Collinsville, have introduced legislation this session that would name Patrick County's Festival the official state covered bridge festival.
Reynolds's bill was recently approved by the Senate and Armstrong's is being considered by the House Committee on Rules.
Patrick County is the only County in Virginia with more than one covered bridge.
The bridges are Bob White and Jack's Creek in the Woolwine community.
