Spoon Mountain Farm to Offer a Creative Arts & Fiber Farm 'Kids' Crafts Camp'

Where: At the Creative Arts and Fiber Farm in Meadows of Dan When: Beginning June 24th, 2013 through July 12th. 3 weeks! Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Week One: Drawing from Nature. We’ll take nature walks on the property and develop our sense of observation, then work in the studio to draw our treasures using a variety of drawing materials, graphite pencil, pen and ink, colored pencil and pastels. Week Two: Working with fiber. We’ll use the fiber produced here on the farm to learn various ways to weave with and without a loom. We’ll create some practical and attractive items, one each day. We’ll learn the two basic stitches used to begin knitting. Week Three: Printmaking. We will learn to create a design which then can be printed and reproduced many times or just once. We will use various techniques and we will print our design on a tee shirt. Who: Any interested young person between the ages of 7 and 12 Additional details. Arrive on time and bring a snack and cool drink of your choice for our mid class break. Bring a curious and motivated attitude. Bring your mom to orientation which is the first half hour of class each Monday morning. Be prepared to have a lot of fun and learn new things. Be prepared to pay the instructor $25.00 weekly class instruction fee and $5.00 for the weekly materials fee. $30.00 per week.
