Sheriff Dan Smith spoke at the monthly meeting of Patrick County Seniors on March 10, 2011, at the Rotary Building in Stuart, VA
He shared some of the statistics from the Sheriff Department:
Dispatchers answered 167,000 calls in 2010
Deputies responded to 13,589 calls for service in 2010
Deputies arrested 46 drunk drivers in 2010
Deputies served 7441 civil process last year.
They transported 159 metally ill patients to hospitals throughout the Commonwealth in 2010
Duputies conducted more than 350 felony investigations in 2010
