December 26, 2010
Dec. 26-Patrick County and Stuart, VA received a winter storm on Christmas Day, resulting in 4-6 inches of snow.

It was a great time for snow sledding and making snowmen. It was a beautiful time with snow on Christmas Day, capping a weekend of celebration. Most churches in Patrick County cancelled services for Sunday, December 26, 2010. VDOT State Road crews did a good job of getting main roads and secondary roads in shape with snow plowing and salting-cindering the roads. It was a great time for families to stay together at home for a 2nd Christmas Day holiday, the day after Christmas. Temperature at 6:30pm was 29 degrees, with temperatures expected to go as low as 20 degrees over night. The wind is whipping up now and causing the temperature to feel like 17 degrees according to the National Weather Bureau. Story written by Tom Bishop Photo by Tom Bishop
