Private landowners can now order FREE SEEDLINGS now through December 8th. This is on a first-come first served basis.
Private landowners can now order FREE SEEDLINGS now through December 8th. This is on a first-come first served basis. Operation Oak is a partnership between the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the National Wild Turkey Federation.
Private landowners interested in participating in this free program must be a member of the NWTF and complete the application form. If you are not a member of the NWTF, membership is $30 per applicant. Tree seedlings available for this years’ Operation Oak are minimum of 100 White Oak, minimum of 100 Northern Red Oak and minimum of 50 Persimmon. Participants will be required to pick-up their seedlings from the Patrick County Extension Office on February 10, 2011 or they forfeit their seedlings.
All applications are due in the Patrick County Extension office NO LATER THAN December 8, 2010. To pick-up a copy of the application form, please visit the Patrick County Extension office in the Patrick County Veteran’s Memorial Building or the Patrick Soil & Water Conservation District, NRCS or the Patrick County FSA offices located in the USDA Service Center behind Stuart Baptist Church.
