Patrick Chamber Supports Blue Ridge Heritage, Inc.

November 2, 2010

Tom Bishop has written a public letter of support for the "Rocky Knob Project", Blue Ridge Heritage to The Enterprise. Tom Bishop is Executive Director of the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce.

October 28, 2010 Letter to The Enterprise Stuart, VA LETTER TO THE EDITOR I am writing you to speak to the work of the organization, Blue Ridge Heritage, Inc. (formerly known as the Rocky Knob Project). Blue Ridge Heritage, Inc. is a Non-Profit Corporation and has been operating officially since 2005, on the project that will benefit both Patrick and Floyd Counties. The organization and its Board of Directors are made up of all volunteers, who have donated 1000’s of hours of work on this project. Their goal is promoting education and economic development through place-based programs related to the natural and cultural heritage of the Blue Ridge Region of Southwestern Virginia So far, they have defined their program, after a very detailed study by Virginia Tech and Clemson University. They are in their final stages of purchase of property to build a Cultural Center (Visitor Center) near our most popular National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway. They are very close to the time of making an important official public announcement. Their next Annual Membership meeting is scheduled for November 30, 2010 at 6:00pm at the Jacksonville Center in Floyd, when more details will be announced. Anyone wishing to become a Charter Member can contribute $25 and show their support and become involved. The Patrick County Chamber of Commerce is a member of Blue Ridge Heritage and supporter of the project. I encourage our Patrick County citizens to get involved and support this worthy project. Sincerely, Tom Bishop, Executive Director Patrick County Chamber of Commerce Telephone: 276-694-6012
