"The event is named in honor of my mother-in-law, Ginny Burns, who died from cancer in November 2004. The last month of her life, Hospice came into the home to help in many ways. She finally passed away at the Hospice & Palliative CareCenter in Winston." said David Cornelius, Ride Creator, " When I was debating on whether or not to buy my motorcycle and when she was in the middle of her fight for her health, Ginny told me that ‘David, you only live once, so go for it.’ Ginny always loved having people over to her house and being around energetic people. She would have loved to have mingled with the riders. This ride is my way of showing everyone the spirit and spunk that lived in Ginny and it is also my way of giving back to Hospice. All proceeds are split evenly between Mountain Valley Hospice and the Hospice & Palliative CareCenter in Winston."
