PRESS RELEASE:
The Ararat Tourism Committee, a group made up of residents from Ararat and Claudville, VA are planning a very special event on Saturday, May 22, 2010. The Ararat Heritage and Music Jamboree will kick off after opening ceremonies at Dan River Park with a parade! Residents will enjoy antique cars, tractors, 4-wheelers from Primland, Fire trucks, horses, and all types of assorted fun sights in the parade.
Following the parade, there will be a wonderful presentation by the NoneSuch Players from Mt. Airy, NC. They will offer story-telling and other wonderful events during the day at the festival. Vendors will be providing crafts, food and area tourist information. There will be several bands playing at Dan River Park during the daylong event. The music will be from 10:: a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Several bands are interested in performing and there should be a good variety for all to enjoy.A t-ball tournament will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m.
