Griffith Lumber of Woolwine, VA is doing a $2.1 million expansion and adding 15 new jobs. They have received a grant of $70,000 from the Tobacco and Indemnification Commission.

The Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission has awarded a $70,000 grant to assist Griffith Lumber in expanding a facility in Patrick County which has preserved 26 jobs and created 15 new jobs.
The Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission is a 31-member body created by the 1999 General Assembly to promote economic growth and development in tobacco-dependent communities, using proceeds of the national tobacco settlement. To date, the Commission has awarded 1,188 grants totaling more than $640.6 million across the tobacco region of the Commonwealth, and has made available nearly $268 million in indemnification payments to tobacco growers and quota holders.
