MUSIC JAM – CELEBRATION OF ARTS
PCMA – April 17, 2010 – Stuart, VA
Warm weather is back and the music is calling you. Patrick County Music Association (PCMA) kicks off Spring a week earlier, in the Large Main Building at Rotary Field on Saturday April 17, 2010, along with Celebration of the Arts. Doors open at 3:30 pm and the music starts at 4:00 pm. Skyline Drive is performing at the PCMA jamboree along with many local performers. Don't miss this family friendly. monthly event in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
Skyline Drive formed in 2002 and has been performing around the area since. The band's new CD “Leavin' Town� featuring “I'm Going Back to the Blue Ridge Mountains� and “Sweetheart of Mine�, two singles, were included by Prime Cuts of Bluegrass in best of bluegrass compilations in 2006 and 2007.
Evening with the Arts Celebration joins the Jamboree this month and the building will be a gallery of art! The Patrick County Partnership for the Arts will be wrapping up their fifth annual Evening with the Arts celebration. On the draped walls of the Memorial building, art projects by Patrick County students in grades K -- 12 will be hung for everyone to enjoy.
Guests are invited to participate in the "Treasure Hunt" for hidden art! The PCPA will be serving freshly grilled hamburgers and hot dogs with all the trimmings, chips, soft drinks and homemade desserts. Get your raffle tickets for a chance on a Wii play station -- all monies benefit the association's goal to bring the schools, the communities and the arts together.
