The Appalachian Power Co. is reporting about 16,735 customers in Henry County are without power, and about 7,500 in Patrick County are without electricity. John Shepelwich, spokesman for APCo, said crews are working throughout the county but transmissions and substations were affected in the storm. The snow and freezing rain is also hindering repair efforts, he said. In the city, spokesman Scott Coleman said most of the outages were handled on Friday, and now 300-400 residents are without power. The outages are sporadic and crews are working throughout the area.
