A CHRISTMAS CAROL to be presented-The Reynolds Homestead

CRITZ, VA (December 7, 2009)— The Reynolds Homestead is pleased to welcome Richmond’s Theatre IV to the Continuing Education Center for performances of “A Christmas Carol� during its Victorian Christmas celebration.

“A CHRISTMAS CAROL� TO BE PRESENTED AT VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS See all of your favorite characters—from the inspiring Tiny Tim to the jolly Mr. Fezziwig to Mr. “Bah Humbug� himself, Ebenezer Scrooge—come to life in this lively musical adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic. Perhaps the best loved holiday story of all time, Theatre IV’s adaptation is perfect for children of all ages and features a magnificent score by Paul Deiss. This family event of the season will have two performances at the Homestead, December 8 and 10 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students 12 and under. Theatre IV has an unflagging commitment to children, families and schools throughout Virginia. Its mission is to seek national caliber excellence in the arts, education, children’s health and safety, and community leadership. While maintaining the highest artistic standards, Theatre IV has become internationally recognized as an “arts for the community’s sake� company, having a tremendous impact on life in Virginia during its 34-year history. Tickets to the performance include a tour of the historic home, which will be open at 5:30 p.m. See the authentically decorated Victorian home, take an apple, and toss a sprig of holly into the fire for good luck. Replica costumes from the period will be on display by Shirley Keene, and the program will open with dance performances from students of the Patrick County Dancing Arts Center in Stuart and the Ray Hollandsworth Studio in Martinsville. On Thursday evening, Esprit d’Chord will perform live Christmas music in the house. Refreshments will be served following the performance.
