On Saturday-Sunday, October 24-25, 2009 there will be many fall celebrations taking place in Patrick County, VA.
Here is a list of major events and celebrations:
1. Oct. 24- Patrick County Music Association Jamboree, Stuart, VA. –Music by Lonesome River Band, Sue Nester, Herbert, Tina and Catherine Conner, The Shelton Brothers, Chords of Faith, Highway 61, Unshackled and Skyline Drive. Doors open at 2:30pm. Music begins at 3:00pm.
2. Oct. 24. Annual Fall Gathering at Mabry Mill, MP 176 on Blue Ridge Parkway, Meadows of Dan. Apple butter making, mountain folk activities. 10:00am-4:00pm
3. Oct. 24-25 Corn Maze Days-Meadows of Dan, VA. Mt. Meadows Farm and Craft Market, 10am-5pm,
4. Oct. 24-25 Fun Filled Days at the Corn Maze-Doe Run Farm in Ararat, VA. Saturday 10:00am-9:00pm, Sunday 1:00pm-7:00pm. Hay rides. Pumpkins.
5. Oct. 24-Variety Dance-American Legion-Stuart, VA, 7:30pm-10:30pm
6. Oct. 24 – Spirit In The Valley Celebration-Dominion Valley Park, Stuart. Music by Southern Prophets. Preaching and Singing. 3pm-6pm
7. Oct. 24 – Cash Give Away - $10,000. By Patrick County Cougar Club, 6:00pm. Buy tickets and receive free meal. Patrick County High, Stuart.
8. Oct. 25–Mabry Mill: Music by Mt. Ivy Band, 2:00pm-5:00pm
9. Oct. 25- Pancake Days-Meadows of Dan Community Building. 7am-7pm. All you can eat. Buckwheat cakes, buttermilk pancakes, country sausage and sausage gravy.
Fall in Patrick County, VA is a wonderful time to tour the mountains and see the fall colors.
