The weekend farm tour on Oct. 10, got a good response as reported by Jay Noonkester of Windy Hill Orchard in Ararat, VA. He and his wife, Debbe operate an orchard with apples, peaches and cherries.
They are located on Farm Road, just off Friends Mission Road in Ararat, VA.
Jay said he got a lot more people on Saturday, Oct. 10 than usual.
Tammy Goodyear of Mose Greek Farm in Rt. 8, South of Stuart, said she got about 20 visitors, which is much more than a typical day.
18 farms in Patrick County participated in the tour.
People visiting the farms got a hands on approach getting to pet animals and purchase orchard and farm products right at the farm.
