Groundbreaking for New Jail-Stuart, VA on Aug. 24-Cost $9 million

On Aug. 24, Patrick County held a groundbreaking for the construction of a new jail, with a construction cost of $9 million. 25% will be reimbused by the State of Virginia

This will create jobs, save money and create income for Patrick County. The county will not have to pay other counties to house their prisoners 14 new jobs will be created for 2 dietary employees, one medical employee, one new classification employee and 10 deputies.. Architects are Thompson & Litton Architects. English Construction, based in Lynchburg was the low bidder.
