Aug. 13-Congressman Rick Boucher and Ellen Davis, State Director of USDA Rural Development, were on hand to announce the grant for $50,000 to assist the Patrick County Sheriff Dept. in purchasing new patrol cars.

Receiving the grant was Patrick County Sheriff Dan Smith. Sheriff Dan Smith cited a recent accident with a patrol car with exessively high mileage as proof of the need for replacements. 3 months ago, Sheriff Dan Smith, Deputy Ward Stone and County Administrator Jay Scudder sought Federal Funding when they contacted Congressman Boucher.
