Sen. Creigh Deeds from Bath County, VA will attend the Virginia State Peach Festival in Stuart, VA on August 8th.

The most important job of the next Governor will be to jumpstart our economy.
That's why today I am announcing my comprehensive plan to create jobs in every area of the state, preserve Virginia's low-tax business friendly climate, and prepare for the economic challenges of tomorrow.
Here's how we will do it together:
1. Pass incentives to create jobs now by providing tax cuts for every job created in Virginia.
2. Get Virginia moving and working with a statewide transportation plan.
3. Help Virginia families who are hurting by giving families a way to stay in their homes and keep health care while they are finding work.
4. Build an economy that will serve the next generation of Virginians by investing in education and training and making Virginia a leader in emerging industries like renewable energy and green jobs.
This plan is ultimately about helping Virginians, and I want to hear your thoughts.
Our plan builds on many of the priorities and programs championed by former Governor, and now Senator, Mark Warner and the great progress made by Governor Tim Kaine. I am so proud to launch the Plan to Jumpstart Virginia's Economy with Mark Warner by my side today in Roanoke.
My plan cuts taxes. It creates new tools to help small businesses and cuts the red tape they deal with, and it promotes job growth in our rural economies. It helps families facing unemployment – and workers in need of job training – and students willing to train and work in jobs where we have a shortage of workers.
To get Virginia working, we need to keep Virginia moving. I'm proposing an innovative statewide transportation plan to open up the avenues of commerce and create thousands of new jobs.
Above all, my plan will make Virginia a business-friendly, well-run state – one with low taxes and an innovative, educated workforce.
