Senator Reynolds Presents Check to Pioneer Community Hospital

Senator Roscoe Reynolds presented a check to Joe McNulty, President and CEO of Pioneer Health Services for $450,000 on July 14, 2009 for upgrades to the Patrick County Pioneer Community Hospital
The money is a grant from the Tobacco and Indemnification Fund and will help pay for the upgrades to the hospital.
Pioneer has already purchased 4 new scopes, valued at $150,000
• Upgraded radiology equipment valued at $75,000
• Upgraded the telephone system valued at $25,000
They have reopened the surgery unit. They have added 35 jobs bringing employment up to 70.....Adding nursing jobs, lab tech jobs, doctors, respiratory therapist, physical therapy for in patient and out patient care..
They Plan to renovate the surgical unit and make roof repairs.
They plan to provide psychiatric outpatient services in the fall and provide a 10 bed psychiatric facility for those over age 55 by January, 2010.
They are trying to recruit an orthopedic surgeon and oral surgeon now.
