Mar. 25-Aneesh Chopra visited Patrick County High School to observe teachers using digital learning tools.

Virginia Secretary of Technology Visits Patrick County. On Wednesday, March 25, Virginia Secretary of Technology Aneesh Chopra visited the high school. He observed teachers using digital learning tools and eighthgrade student Hannah Martin presenting the independent learning project she had completed for her exploratory class this winter. Mr. Chopra was very complimentary of the use of technology in our division. In the afternoon he lead in a seminar on Technology in the 21st Century Classroom, which used video-teleconferencing with staff from the central office as well as all seven Patrick County Public Schools. The school division got a chance to show-case its cutting edge use of technology as well as profit from new ideas and gain an indication of where the state is heading in educational technology.
