New Construction in Patrick County is $22 million for 2008

Mar. 13. The Patrick County Chamber issues this report on new construction for year 2008.

Year 2008
The Building Inspection report for Patrick County, Virginia for 2008, shows new construction in the amount of $22,834,157.
New homes (stick built) and including modular homes amounted to $12,010,409.
Mobile homes, including single-wide and double-wide amounted to $2,517,595.
Other miscellaneous construction including commercial and remodeling amounted to $8,306,153. Of this amount, commercial construction was $5,203,856.
The continued confidence in Patrick County shown by the building industry is evident in this report.
Tom Bishop, Executive Director of the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce says, “New construction continues at a steady pace in Patrick County in spite of the overall nation-wide decline in the building construction industry. Due to our diverse landscape this construction takes place and is hardly recognized. We refer to this as the ‘silent economy’ because it is not well known.�
