Mar. 2-More than 7,200 Duke Energy customers in Forsyth County were without power just after 8 a.m., the utility reported. Another 2,300 customers in Davie County were also without power.
Tom Shiel, a spokesman for Duke Energy, said tree branches heavy with snow and ice have been breaking, snapping power lines as they fall.
"The crews are going to be out there doing 16-hour shifts to egt the power back on," Shiel said. He said most customers should have their power restored by Tuesday.
