“Can You Hear Me Now. The Verizon Wireless and Alltel Wireless
Merger has been completed. “Legal Day one was on January 9th,
2009. Verizon Wireless is now managing Alltel Wireless, but the day
to day activities have not changed for Alltel. Alltel stores are still
selling Alltel phones and Alltel plans until the deal has been fully
completed. There are still multiple things that have to be completed
before you will see the Alltel name gone. Verizon has to combine the
billing systems, change out signs, decide on the new management
structure, and many other decisions have to be made. In the
Meantime, Verizon customers are still with Verizon and Alltel
customer are still with Alltel.
Before the merger, AT&T
wireless was the number one carrier which currently has almost 75
million customers.
