Blue Ridge Elementary School teacher Sandra Clement and Patrick County Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Betsy Layman were given the awards of "Teacher of the Year" and "Law Enforcement Officer of the Year" respectfully by VFW Post 8467.
Clement not only recieved the local award in December, but she is all the recipient of the district award to be presented in February. Layman was nominated by her superior Dan Smith, Sheriff and endorsed by Major Garry brown and Patrick County Commonwealth's Attorney Stephanie Brinegar Vipperman.
