You can work with patients, family care, or bereavement support. Hospice of Patrick County begins their next volunteer training session on Thursday, August 28th at 7 PM and continue weekly until October 30th. Call today to join the “Friends of Hospice� volunteer group.
Hospice of Patrick County invites you to join us and train as a volunteer. Hospice Volunteer Training classes meet weekly, on Thursdays starting August 28th at the Red Bank Ruritan Club in Claudville, VA from 7 to 9 PM. CNA’s and medical personnel are invited to attend any or all sessions for contact education hours. Topics covered are Introduction to Hospice and the Hospice philosophy; Concepts on death and dying; Mourning, Grief and loss, Bereavement; Communication and listening; Family dynamics and care giving; Spiritual care; Diseases and illnesses; Comfort care; Self-care and stress management; Funeral planning; opportunities and activities for the volunteer. After completing training, a graduation ceremony will be held on November 2nd, where you will be presented a Hospice Volunteer Certificate and Pin.
