Winter Fitness Classes to Begin After the New Year at The Reynolds Homestead
December 19, 2014
Keep those New Year’s resolutions to stay in shape with one or more of the winter fitness classes to be offered by the Reynolds Homestead beginning Monday, January 12. Registration is currently open for Yoga, Line Dancing, Stretch and Tone, and Tai Chi.
Yoga
for Fitness is instructed by Rebecca Adcock and will meet on Mondays, starting
January 12 for 8 weeks from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Yoga helps improve flexibility and
reduces aches and pains. Rebecca will also offer alternative moves to suit any
fitness level. Bring a yoga mat and towel and wear loose-fitting, comfortable
clothing.
Dance
instructor Sue Ann Ehmann will be teaching Line Dancing on Mondays following
Yoga, with each week’s lessons focusing on fun and fitness-oriented dances,
building on the group’s strengths from week to week. Enjoy the music, the
laughter, and the exercise that are always part of any class that Sue Ann
teaches. The class is from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Wear comfortable clothing
and soft shoes for dancing.
Tuesdays
will feature April Pendleton’s popular Stretch and Tone class, beginning on
January 13 from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Part of staying fit is strengthening and
toning the body, especially the core which helps prevent back, leg, and other
issues from developing. Wear loose-fitting clothing and bring a yoga mat or
towel for floor work and also small hand weights suitable for your fitness
level.
On
Thursdays, Sharon Mason will offer her Tai Chi for Fitness and Health,
beginning January 15 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. This ancient art is designed to
revitalize, circulate and balance the natural vital energy of body and mind through
slow, careful, simple and gentle flowing movements of arms and body.
Coordinated with breath work and visualization, Tai Chi helps release stress
and blocked energy through strengthening and toning the muscles responsible for
coordination and control. This class is designed to leave you calm, centered,
refreshed, and prepared to meet the challenges of your day. Suitable for those
of any skill level. Wear comfortable clothing and soft shoes or go barefoot.
There
are several options for registration and payment. Take one class for only $35;
take two classes for $60; three classes for $75; or all four classes for $90.
If you are unable to commit to a full class schedule, you may take any class on
a pay-as-you-go basis for $5 per class. All classes will last for 8 weeks; if
inclement weather forces the cancellation of a session, another session will be
added at the end until 8 weeks are fulfilled.
