Delegate Charles Poindexter Wins Virginia Chamber of Commerce "Champion of Free Enterprise Award"
Recognized for support of pro-business issues during 2014 legislative session
The Virginia Chamber of Commerce today announced that for the second consecutive year Delegate Charles Poindexter (R-Franklin) has been awarded the "Champion of Free Enterprise Award" and earned a score of 100% in the Virginia Chamber's Legislative Report Card for the 2014 General Assembly Session. The Legislative Report Card, which is calculated each year based on legislators' voting records on the principles and issues outlined in the Chamber's Blueprint Virginia: A Business Plan for the Commonwealth, recognizes legislators for their support of initiatives that will help move Virginia forward.
"I am honored to receive this pro-business award for the second year in a row," said Delegate Poindexter. "Virginia's economy is still at pre-recession levels, despite some signs of improvement. It is, therefore, critically important we take every step we can to attract new business, support existing business, and create jobs for our excellent workforce. I appreciate the Virginia Chamber of Commerce's leadership in this area and I look forward to continuing our work to ensure Virginia remains the number one state for business."
