SPRING CAMP OUT WITH REYNOLDS HOMESTEAD

April 24, 2014

Kick off the late but welcome arrival of spring this year with a family and friends Camp Out at Rock Spring at the Reynolds Homestead on May 2. Families are invited to come and set up a tent and enjoy an evening and morning of fun events for all ages. Set up begins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, followed by a hot dog supper roasted over the campfire. Chad Lange of Nature Freaks will be there to lead the group on a nature hike, a night-time bug hunt, and other fun outdoor activities and crafts. And, of course, there will be s’mores! For those who love looking at the stars, Lloyd Cannaday, professor at Patrick Henry Community College, will have his telescope which brings the Milky Way seemingly right to the fingertips. The moon will only have 6% visibility, making it nearly perfect for viewing the night sky. A continental breakfast will be provided on Saturday morning, and while the adults are packing up their camping gear, Lange will lead a children’s nature hike, discovering all of the special morning “critters” out and about on the Homestead property.
