The Ararat Ruritans hold this 29th Annual BBQ each year on the last Sat in October, 12:00pm 6:00 pm.
Located a few miles from The Blue Ridge Parkway, a few miles from (Mayberry) the hometown of Andy Griffith in Mount Airy, NC. You will not want to miss this southern hospitality of good food, BBQ Chicken, Slaw, Potatoes, Baked Beans, Rolls, and Drinks, good fellowship, and raise funds for the Ruritans, which in turn helps out in the Community of Ararat. The Ruritans Host Ararat Community Watch with the Patrick County Sheirff Dept. Also contributes $500.00 each year to Scholarship Fund for a Senior at Patrick County High School. Donations to Ararat Volunteer Fire Dept, Ararat Volunteer Rescue Squad, Blue Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad, etc. Also donations to needs in the Community....
All are invited to stop by, tourist, friends, neighbors, your guests, parents, grandparents, etc. Eat in or take out!!!
