Upper Beach Parking Area. Join a ranger at the Upper Beach Parking Area to view the night sky during the new moon. Since there is no moonlight competing with the sky, the days surrounding a new moon offer the best conditions of the month for spotting the Milky Way, faint galaxies, and constellations Telescopes will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. We recommend chairs or blankets for stargazing during this event. Please park at Shelter 3 to prevent light pollution from vehicles. Rangers will be on site to direct you to the Upper Beach Area. This event may be cancelled if the forecast indicates overcast skies or rain.
