STUART, VA – “Local governments can succeed only when citizens are active participants.” With this guiding principle, the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Patrick County Administration, is proud to present a Citizen Committee Information Workshop designed to help residents learn how to get involved in county government.
Patrick County operates through a variety of advisory boards and committees that rely on volunteer citizen members. This session will provide an overview of available committees and help attendees identify where their interests, skills, and experience can make the greatest impact. Committees include, but are not limited to, the Tourism Advisory Council, Economic Development Authority, Public Service Authority, Parks & Recreation Committee, Department of Social Services, Southern Area Agency on Aging, and the Planning Commission.
Residents who have ever wondered how to serve their community or influence local decision-making are encouraged to attend.
