Smith River Community Bank, N. A. will change its name to River Community Bank, N. A. effective January 1, 2008

Ronad Haley, President and Chief Excecutive Officer of the Martinsville based community bank, said the change is being made to better reflect the company's geographic footprint across Southside Virginia. The Smith River name has served us well since 2000 in Martinsville, Henry County and Patrick Counties. As we look to expand into other areas, one name would be more cost effective and recognizable thoughout the region.
