Tourism Business Increases in Patrick County-VA for 2006

For 2006, tourism revenues increased by 4.6% locally, with a total of $21.1 million in visitor spending in 2006.
State of Virginia spending was a record 17.7 billion in 2006.
Direct spending by domestic travelers in Patrick County supported 264 full-time and seasonal jobs, which generated more than $4.8 million in wages and salaries.
Local taxes, including sales and property taxes, generated $638,500 for Patrick County, a 3.5% increase over 2005.
Economice data is compiled by the Travel Industry Association of America and distributed to localities by the Virginia Tourism Corporation.
