Tom Bishop speaks at Town Council hearing on Feb. 21

Tom Bishop, Executive Director of the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce spoke at the hearing on Feb. 21 at the Town Council meeting in favor of the Community Block Grant proposal.
He said he would especially like to see good lighting and safer sidewalks in uptown Stuart. "I am really encouraged by what the businesses have already done in the town of Stuart," he said. "We have a lot things happening in the business community."
Pointing out several new or expanding businesses in both uptown and downtown Stuart, Bishop said, "the town is coming back and private investment is putting a lot into it."
The Town of Stuart is seeking a $700,000 Community Block Grant and a $300,000 grant to add or improve upper-level housing above stores on Main Street.
