Jon Wood, third-generation member of the famed WOOD BROTHERS family, crossed a famous milestone Monday, January 29th, at exactly 9am PST.
He finally got behind the wheel of the legendary No. 21 car.
"It was my first test or time in a Cup car and I really didn't know that to expect or look for at first". When pressed about the first noticeable difference between the Cup car and the Busch car he has driven for the past three years, he broke into a wide grin and stated flatly, about 30 miles per hour".
Under the direction of WOOD BROTHERS/JTG Racing Crew Chief Ernie Cope (and the watchful eye of his father, Eddie Wood, high atop the spotter stand), Wood took to the revamped 20-degree banking of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Jon Wood's Busch Series Crew Chief Scott Zipadelli also attended for the purpose of pitching in.
