PEACH COOK-OFF WINNERS ANNOUNCED by The Reynolds Homestead

Julie Walters-Steele, director of the Reynolds Homestead has announced the winners of the 2nd Annual Peach Festival Cook-Off held on Friday, August 16.
Contestants were invited to enter their best peach recipes in one of two categories, Jams, Jellies and Preserves or Peach Desserts. Entries were judged on their appearance, texture, taste, and overall impression.
In the category of Jams, Jellies and Preserves, first place went to Michelle Bull of Stuart for her “Peach Honey”; second place was awarded to Ruby Clark of Stuart for her “Peach Jam.”
First place winner in the Peach Desserts category was Judy Foley of Ridgeway who entered a “Peaches and Cream Pie.” Maria Villarreal of Patrick Springs placed second for her dessert “Peach Cake.”
The Best of Show award was presented to Lucy Wilson of Martinsville, who entered a Peach Melba Cake which was a unanimous winner!
The Reynolds Homestead appreciates all of the entrants who participated and the Stuart Farmers’ Market for helping coordinate the entries.
