PATRICK COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNOUNCES NEW PARTNERSHIP
May 9, 2013
The Board of Directors of the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its partnership with the Arts on Main Gallery. This new partnership will mean that the Chamber of Commerce will serve as the new gallery location for the group, and all its operations will move to the Chamber Office.
Chamber Executive Director Tim Collins said, “It was my vision to incorporate local artisans into the New Chamber Location, and when I heard that Arts on Main might be closing their doors, I knew it was a match made in Heaven.”
The Arts on Main gallery is a project of the Patrick County Partnership of the Arts. The partnership was formed 8 years ago as a non-profit organization that works to address goals for the fine arts program in the Patrick County School System. The gallery had been located on Main Street , in Stuart, for the past 3 years.
Due to a strain on the operational budget the Gallery was faced with the dilemma of having to close. “When I found out that Arts on Main might close, I wanted to do all that I could to keep them going. This relationship will allow them to still operate a gallery while concentrating on achieving the goals of the Patrick County Partnership of the Arts.” said Collins.
Member Artists of the Partnership spent the past weekend moving their gallery into the newly remodeled Chamber of Commerce Office, located at 103B Stonewall Court in Stuart. “We’re very excited to have them here in the Chamber and to be able to help them carry on the great work they do in the County.” said Collins.
Gallery hours will coincide with the Chamber’s hours as they will operate Monday thru Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The gallery will also offer the same hours on Saturdays, which will benefit the Chamber of Commerce. “Having the ability to operate on Saturday is enormous benefit for the Chamber, and our members. We have visitors who often come into Stuart on Saturdays, and this will allow us to have someone staff the office and assist anyone who might stop by.” said Collins.
