The popular Bluegrass group, Lost and Found, played Saturday night, January 20th at the Historic Star Theatre in Downtown Stuart, VA.
The concert was program sponsored by BB&T and Mountain View Communications, with 50% of the proceeds going to Elementary Music Program of Patrick County, VA.
The group was led by Allen Mills (bass fiddle) from Charity Highway in Patrick County. The other musicians included, Scotty Sparks vocalist and guitarist, of Grayson, KY, Ronald Smith vocalist and banjoist from Roxboro, NC and John Keith mandolin player from Marietta, OH.
Allen Mills is called by some the “Bluegrass King�.
They played such songs as, Never Let Your Deal Go Down, Crying My Heart Over You, Ida Red, Blue Moon Over Kentucky, Wreck of ’97, Melody of Tennessee, Kentucky and Shenandoah Waltz, O Them Golden Slippers and 14 Carrot Mind.
They also played Johnson’s Grocery Store, which has made no. 1 on the Bluegrass Charts.
It was a fun night in the beautiful setting of the newly rebuilt Star Theatre.
The lead off band was Ten Brooks, led by Jimmy Handy of Patrick County.
