Two Patrick County Students Injured in Auto Crash With School Bus

Jan . 22- Patrick County school bus crashes with auto nearly head-on. Two students were takend to Pioneer Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

PATRICK COUNTY, VA --
Virginia State Police are investigating what caused a school bus crash in Patrick County on Tuesday.
According to Sergeant Robert Carpentieri, of State Police's Salem division, the crash took place around 3:15 p.m., on Route 826, just west of Route 616.
The investigating trooper found the school bus was driving east on Route 826, when a 2000 Dodge Neon hit the bus nearly head-on.
EMTs took two female students on the school bus to Pioneer Hospital in Stuart with non-life threatening injuries. Both are expected to recover.
The driver of the Neon, 72-year-old Charlie Lovell, of Woolwine, was also taken to the hospital.
The trooper charged Lovell with failing to drive on the right side of the roadway.
