Hooker Furniture Announces loss of 277 jobs in Martinsville

The loss of jobs will be at the Martinsville, VA manufacturing division when the plant closes in March, 2007.
The company's headquarters and warehouse operation will remain.
January 19
Employment Security manager Joyce Snead said there are positions available, especially in local call centers. Also, there are about 600 jobs available in the Danville area, including some in the furniture industry.
