The Meadows of Dan community reports a snow cover, windy and freezing rain. Portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway at "Round Meadows" has trees down on the Parkway roadway.

Some places gusts go up to 40 mph. Leslie Shelor says a tree has fell iin Willis Road, near Meadows of Dan. From Richard Rogers - WHEO 1270AM Careful this morning, especially if traveling the mountain roads of Patrick County. Up to an inch of fine snow has been reported at Meadows of Dan topped by 1/8 to 1/4 inch of ice. "The ground is covered white," said one WHEO weather spotter.
