Stanburn Winery Receives Awards in Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition

November 27, 2012
Stanburn Winery of Stuart, VA (Patrick County) has won several awards in the 8th Annual Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition.

The Atlantic Seaboard Wine Association is one of the oldest wine organizations located on the east coast. In late July of 2012, Haymarket, Virginia hosted the Eighth Annual Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition. This year’s competition evaluated a total of 495 wines representing 98 wineries from ten states of the Atlantic Seaboard region. Stanburn Winery in Stuart, VA was awarded five medals during this competition. Bronze medals were awarded for the Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and the Meadow Breeze wines. Winning silver medals were the Chambourcin and the Big A Red wines. These wines were all from the 2011 vintage. Stanburn Winery is a family owned farm winery which started wine production with the 2009 vintage, after beginning as a commercial vineyard in 1999. The tasting room opened in November of 2010. All the wines from Stanburn Winery are produced and bottled in Patrick County. They are rich in tradition and outstanding in quality. The objective of making the Atlantic Seaboard better known nationally as a quality wine producing region equal to the West Coast is well underway.
