Spencer-Penn Centre Hosts Photography Exhibit and Competition

In November, Spencer-Penn Centre continues its photography exhibit and competition which began in 2009. The event, held twice a year, highlights the work of local amateur photographers in ten categories of competition: portraits, landscapes, still life, humor, children, digitally manipulated, animals, floral, human interest, and Spencer-Penn Centre remembered.
The work of experienced and beginner photographers is judged separately. One entry is allowed in each category but most categories have separate color and black/white divisions. The rules for judging follow the Virginia Fair rules.Entries will be accepted November 5 and 6 at the Centre from 2 until 7 each day. A fee of $1 per entry with a maximum of $10 per photographer will be charged.Photographers who have framed photographs to sell may exhibit those for $2 per item. The exhibitor determines the cost of the item; a 20% commission on all sales will go to Spencer-Penn Centre.Photographs will remain on exhibit throughout the month of November during regular Centre hours and special events.Contact the Centre at 276-957-5757 or spspo04@yahoo.com for complete rules.
