The Patrick County Christmas Cheer 2012 Program is Up and Running

Applications have been distributed throughout the Patrick County school system, Social Services, Piedmont Community Services and area Head Start facilities. Families participating in the Christmas Cheer program must return their completed application to one of those agencies by Monday, October 22, 2012.
The Christmas Cheer program is available to children within Patrick County that are between the ages of one year and twelve years. We ask that if a family participates in a similar program, to be considerate of others in need and not ask for duplicate services.
The Patrick County Christmas Cheer mission is to help local families having difficulty providing Christmas to their children by providing each with a warm coat or sweater, one outfit, and a toy. Citizens of Patrick County who wish to assist a family this Christmas Season, can send monetary donations with checks made payable to Patrick County Christmas Cheer and mail to PO Box 222, Stuart, VA 24171. Other opportunities available for helping support Christmas Cheer and its mission to help local families is by participating in one of our scheduled events.
10th Annual Ken Adams Memorial Patrick County Toy Run on November 3, 2012 Rain Date –November 17, 2012. Registration Starts at 11:30 a.m. at the Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department. Depart at 1:00 pm - $ 10.00 Entry Fee. There Will Be a 50/50 Drawing, Door Prizes, and Hot Dogs Available to All Riders. Open to All Types of Cars, Trucks, and Motorcycles. Christmas Cheer Trees
You can adopt a child from one of our many Christmas trees located throughout the County beginning in November. Trees will be located at Wal-Mart, Curves, Family Pharmacy, and Rite Aid. If shopping is too much for you, please consider providing a monetary donation to Patrick County Christmas Cheer, PO Box 222, Stuart, VA 24171.
