Member's of Grace Baptist Church Welcome a New Pastor
October 9, 2012
On Sunday, September 16, 2012, the members of Grace Baptist Church of 14087 J.E.B. Stuart Hwy., welcomed their new pastor, Mark Elkins, and his wife, Pam, and daughters, Casey, Maura, and Peyton.
Mark and his family formerly lived in Mechanicsville, VA and attended Grace Bible Church of Midlothian, VA where he was a lay teacher, providing pulpit supply, teaching adults and youth, and mentoring men in their journeys of faith.
Mark is 45 years old and is currently enrolled in Shepherds Theological Seminary in Cary, NC where he is working on his Master of Arts in Church Ministry. Prior to Mark’s call to the ministry and entrance into seminary, he earned a degree in accounting and worked for eight years as president of his own accounting and financial recruiting firm.
Pastor Mark has extensive Bible knowledge which he communicates through an energetic, witty, and caring personality. He believes that unless we pour what God has done and is doing into the new generation of believers, we are not fulfilling God’s plan for the church. Mark has a strong commitment to teaching God’s word, ministering to God’s people, and local, state, and foreign missions.
Mark’s wife, Pam, a strong supporter and co-worker in ministry, is also teacher of their three home schooled daughters.
Grace Baptist Church is excited about this new phase in their ministry with the Elkins family and believes that they will advance the creed of Grace Baptist, “Hearts United in Loving God, Sharing Christ, and Serving Others”.
