Homestead History Program to feature Sidna Allen House

September 25, 2012
"The History Around Us" program, sponsored by the Reynolds Homestead and the Patrick County Historical Society, will feature a talk on the famous location on Wednesday, October 3rd at Noon. The historical home is located in Carroll County.

Built in 1910 this beautiful Queen Anne-style house is all the more intriguing because of its owner's involvement in the 1912 Carroll County Courthouse shootings and tragedy. In disrepair for a number of years, the 100th anniversary of the courthouse tragedy has brought renewed interest and fascination with this unique building, located on U.S. Route 52 between Hillsville and Fancy Gap. The program usually lasts about an hour, so bring a bagged lunch and enjoy learning about this fascinating place that has been lost to time and history. The event is free to the public and no reservations are required.
