22nd Annual J. E. B. Stuart Encampment & Living History at Laurel Hill in Ararat, Virginia

The J.E.B Stuart Birthplace Preservation and Trust announces the 22nd Annual J. E. B. Stuart Encampment and Living History Saturday and Sunday October 6 & 7, 2012, “rain or shine”. There will be a wide variety of activities for the whole family’s enjoyment.

Other activities include, Council of War by Civil War Generals, Civil War battles, 1800’s fashion show, Saturday night dance, Candle Light Tour, Sunday Morning Church Service 10am, String Music, Food Vendors, Civil War Sutlers and hundreds of reenactors. We are commemorating the Sesquicentennial of the Civil War starting this year. 150 Years. “Understanding our Past.” And “Embracing Our Future”. Battle Reenactments will be as follows: · Saturday, 1:00pm, Calvary Battle · Saturday, 3:00pm, Infantry Battle · Sunday, 2:00pm, Infantry Battle Gates open at 9:00am Saturday and closes at 4:00pm Sunday. Flag raising ceremony 11:00am Saturday morning. Admission is $8.00 adults, children 12 and under are free and parking is free. Laurel Hill is located at 1091 Ararat Highway , near Ararat , VA.
